- לְוָיָה, לְוָיָיהf. (לָוָה) escort, company, esp. the travellers escort for protection. Sot.IX, 6 והנחנוהו בלא ל׳ and we let him (the stranger) go without protection; (Y. ib. IX, 23d bot. הלוייה).
